Prescott’s Whiskey Row Marathon presents a rigorous test of endurance with its full marathon, half marathon, and 10K options, plus a 2-mile Fun Run. Recognized as one of the most demanding marathons in the United States, the route boasts a demanding ascent from the starting line, climbing nearly 1,000 feet by the halfway mark. Whether opting for the 26.2-mile marathon, the 13.1-mile half marathon, or the 10K, competitors will confront a grueling out-and-back course starting and finishing in downtown Prescott near the courthouse on Montezuma Street. Known for its difficulty, the course begins at an elevation of 5,280 feet, ascending to 7,000 feet within the first seven miles, then descending to 5,600 feet at the 13-mile turnaround. The initial and final five miles are on paved roads, transitioning into a trail run on a dirt road managed by the US Forest Service for the remainder of the course.
