OMT Beirut Marathon

The Beirut Marathon is one of the Middle East’s most prominent road races, drawing tens of thousands of runners and spectators since its founding in 2003. Held each November, the marathon champions a powerful theme of unity, with participants from across political, cultural, and international backgrounds. The certified course, part of the Asian Premier Marathons circuit, is flat and city-centered—ideal for personal bests and accessible to runners of all levels. The event includes not just the full marathon but also shorter races, ensuring wide community participation. Highlights include crowds lining the streets of central Beirut, the Mediterranean backdrop, and spirited side events like the 3 km run for MPs and UN peacekeepers. Managed by the Beirut Marathon Association, a registered NGO, the race also features a bustling marathon village and supports various charitable causes.
