About the event

The Reggio Emilia Marathon is known for its well-organized event and supportive atmosphere provided by staff and volunteers. Set in a scenic hilly area, the marathon offers participants and their companions the chance to enjoy local cuisine before and after the race. The route passes through picturesque countryside and the hills of Quattro Castella, with both the start and finish located in Victory Square. Credit : nilson mendes Jean Baptiste Simukeka grinded past more than 2457 runners to win in 02:17:08. He bested Youness Zitouni who crossed the finish line one minute 45 seconds behind him. Ahmed Nasef (02:20:01) made notched third place. For the women, Alemu Maru Tsehay finished first in 02:29:59 , followed by Nikolina Sustic who finished with a time of 02:42:34.
