About the event
The Maratón Powerade Monterrey, usually held in December, is one of Latin America’s premier marathons and a Boston Marathon qualifier. Certified by World Athletics and AIMS, the marathon course begins and ends in Monterrey’s Parque Fundidora, a hub of culture and industry in northern Mexico. With a field limited to 8,000 runners, this well-organized event delivers elite-level support: individual photos and race videos, finisher medals and jackets, a professional recovery zone, and a full expo experience. The marathon also features a charitable “Corredor de Valor” option, where runners raise funds for local causes. On race day, four timed corrals ensure smooth pacing, while cheer squads, a pre-race carb dinner with music, and age-group competitions enhance the experience.
