Kinmen Marathon

Held on Taiwan’s outlying Kinmen Island, the Kinmen Marathon is a major kickoff to the country’s running calendar. Drawing tens of thousands annually, including over a thousand international participants, the race offers four distances: marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 4K. The course is flat, well-maintained, and safe, perfect for those attempting their first marathon. Along the route, runners pass iconic landmarks such as Juguang Tower, Lake Shuangli, and Guningtou Archway, while soaking in views of Kinmen’s wartime heritage and traditional settlements. Local residents line the streets to cheer runners on, creating a warm race-day atmosphere. With generous cash prizes and growing international prestige, the race is increasingly popular.
