About the event

Finlandia-hiihto is Finland’s largest and most internationally recognized ski marathon, held every February in Lahti. As the country’s only Worldloppet race since 1978, it consistently attracts thousands of skiers from over 30 nations. The course—62 km of classic-style skiing or a separate skate-ski race—runs through the forested ridgelines and open fields between Lahti and Hollola. Conditions are reliably well-managed, with professional grooming and infrastructure built for major international events. The race starts and finishes at the historic Lahti Ski Stadium, known for its ski jumping towers and buzzing atmosphere. Live music, cheering crowds, and a deep-rooted skiing culture give the event its distinctive edge. Since 1974, Finlandia-hiihto has seen everyone from national champions to royalty on its start line, making it a cornerstone of Nordic mass skiing.
