The Belgrade Marathon (Beogradski Maraton) represents a remarkable revival of Serbia's running heritage, tracing its roots back to 1910 while establishing itself as a premier modern sporting event since its 1988 rebirth. This resilient race - which continued even during the 1999 NATO bombings as a symbolic group run - now stands as one of the Balkans' most significant athletic competitions. Organized with support from the City of Belgrade, Serbian Army, and Police, the event features the classic marathon distance alongside shorter races, attracting thousands of participants annually.

Credit : Belgrade City Marathon Silviu Stoica took top spot in 02:34:43. Coming in second was Marko Rankovic (02:37:15). Nickolaos Santis got the third place in 02:48:52. For the women, it was Nevena Jovanovic who took the top spot in 03:12:27 , followed by Danijela Cvetkovic who finished with a time of 03:33:45. Jovana Čanak got the third place in 03:39:56.
