About the event

One of the most scenic marathon's in the Country the Columbia Gorge Marathon takes participants through the beautiful fall colors of the Pacific Northwest on the old historic highway. Runners follow the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, designed a century ago to showcase the dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and fall colors of the Columbia River Gorge. The course includes long stretches of uninterrupted trail, sweeping river views, and moderate climbs, with the full marathon reaching 1,882 feet (574 m) in total elevation and the half marathon 1,112 feet (339 m). Walkers are welcome, with a generous 7-hour cut-off time. All finishers receive a custom medal and Columbia Gorge beanie. A catered lunch by Spin Catering is included post-race. The Dog Leg Half Marathon division welcomes runners with their canine partners, both timed and medaled. Aid stations are located every 1–3 miles, stocked with water, Gatorade, GU, bananas, and gummy bears. Relay and virtual options are also available.
