About the event

The Brighton Marathon stands as the UK’s second-largest marathon, drawing over 12,000 runners and tens of thousands of spectators each year. Set against the famous seaside backdrop of Brighton and Hove, this coastal road race features a mostly flat, scenic course that starts in Preston Park, loops through city landmarks, runs east towards Rottingdean, and finishes on the seafront at Madeira Drive, near the iconic Brighton Pier. With enthusiastic crowds, live entertainment, and strong local support, the race atmosphere is electric from start to finish. Since its inception in 2010, it has attracted elite and amateur athletes alike, supported hundreds of charities, and earned a Label status from World Athletics. Now organized by London Marathon Events, the Brighton Marathon continues to deliver a professionally run, high-profile race weekend that includes an expo and various supporting events.
