West Elk Challenge Trail Marathon

The West Elk Challenge is a trail marathon through the West Elk Mountains, showcasing the region's fall colors. The event begins at Crawford Reservoir State Park, traverses gravel roads and single-track trails, and ascends to the summit of Inter-Ocean Pass before ending in the town of Paonia. Participants have access to shuttles and can enjoy post-race festivities at Paonia River Park. The event supports the Nature Connection’s Scholarship Fund, which aims to promote outdoor activities for children and families.
