Veins of Gold Mountain Race

Runners will start at Government Peak Recreation Area, climbing the trail to the peak, and continuing along the ridge to April Bowl and Summit Lake Parking Lot, finishing at Independence Mine. The course features steep uphill trails, loose rocks, and varied terrain, with potential weather changes. Participants must complete the course in advance, sign a waiver, and carry specific gear for safety. The event is supported by the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group, receiving 10% of registration fees. Aid stations will be available, but participants should come prepared.
