The Bill Scott Memorial 5K Walk/Run is held annually in Burnet Park to honor the legacy of William "Bill" Scott Jr., former President of the Syracuse Teachers Association. The event supports a scholarship for a Syracuse City School District senior pursuing a degree in Psychology or Human Services. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall female and male finishers.
