This race is the perfect preparation for upcoming events like the Jones Beach Ironman 70.3. Safety is paramount, with lifeguards and NYPD Water Patrol on duty throughout the swim. Here's how the day unfolds: The race kicks off at 7:30 AM sharp from the transition area by the B95th Street Rockaway Beach Amphitheater. Triathletes begin their swim at the B91st Street beach ramp, while Duathletes start their first run right from B95th Street.
After a 400-meter swim, Triathletes will head back to the transition area via the B95th Street beach ramp. Duathletes will reach a turnaround point at B115th Street, equipped with water and aid stations, before returning to the transition.
Both Triathletes and Duathletes embark on a 12-mile bike ride on the boardwalk, from B95th Street to B27th Street and back. Completing two loops totaling 12 miles, athletes can expect a flat and smooth ride, but be ready for windy conditions on the return from B27th Street.
Concluding the race is a 3-mile run for all participants. Starting at the transition area, you'll turn around at B125th Street and make your way back to the finish line near the transition area, racing through the finish flags.
