About the event

The Rimi Riga Marathon celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2025, with a record-breaking 40K participants from more than 100 countries, making it the largest edition in its history. Spanning two festive days, the event offers distances for every levels. Riga’s iconic landmarks—like the Freedom Monument, three city bridges, and the lush Mežaparks—form a vibrant backdrop for this single-loop, city-centered course. The atmosphere is electric, with cheering crowds, live music, and traditional Latvian dances and national costumes adding cultural color along the route. The two-day program is traditionally opened by the joyful Kids’ Day, where thousands of children and families celebrate movement through fun runs and activities along the Daugava. The DPD Mile—Latvia’s Mile Championship—adds competition and community spirit, with elite athletes, school teams, and inclusive divisions sharing the stage. Pre-race expos and post-race celebrations round out a truly festive experience.
