Valdez, AK, United States

About the event
The "Pack Trail," originally constructed in 1898 by the US Army to connect Valdez and Eagle, Alaska, was a significant route during the Klondike Gold Rush. It evolved into a wagon road by 1910 under General Wilds P. Richardson, later becoming the Richardson Highway. Abandoned for decades, the trail was rediscovered and cleared with hand tools in the late 1990s, preserving its historical integrity. Remnants of the original telegraph line remain visible. In 2006, floods caused damage to the trail and nearby Richardson Highway. The endurance race on this historic trail has a participant limit.
