About the event

Gear up for the New York City Duathlon, set against the stunning backdrop of Central Park's vibrant flora. Get ready for a challenging athletic adventure in this renowned location.

The race starts bright and early near the Central Park Boat House parking lot, which serves as your Transition area. You'll face two exhilarating runs of 2.2 miles each, following an out-and-back format along the east side, with a turnaround at the 96th Street Margaret L Kempner Playground. Prepare for a quick climb up Cat Hill right from the start.

The bike segment features 2 loops around Central Park's drive. With Harlem Hill off-limits due to construction, the route includes the 102nd Street Traverse/Crossing, where you'll make a crucial left turn onto the west side. Each loop spans 5 miles, totaling 10 miles, with an elevation gain of 250 feet per loop, designed to test your endurance and agility.

Navigate the challenge as Central Park remains open to the public. Stay alert for course marshals, especially near Harlem Hill, and make sure to execute that crucial left turn to continue your journey around the park.

Seize the opportunity to embrace this athletic challenge in one of the most iconic settings. Experience the thrill and push your limits as you race through beautiful Central Park.
