The Montafon Arlberg Marathon powered by Sparkasse is Western Austria’s most beautiful mountain marathon, offering an unforgettable trail running experience through pristine Alpine landscapes. Starting in Silbertal, the route spans 42.195 kilometers with 1,250 meters of elevation gain, culminating in the high point at Winterjöchle (1,935 m) before descending to the iconic village of St. Anton am Arlberg. Entirely free from road traffic, the course winds along lush forest paths, rugged singletrack, and panoramic ridges. A highlight of the marathon is the passage through the European Conservation Area Verwall, a region celebrated for its unspoiled biodiversity and stunning mountain scenery.
