About the event

The Lala Marathon is one of Mexico’s premier road races and a consistent Boston qualifier, drawing over 5,000 runners each year to the La Laguna metropolitan area. Held annually on the first Sunday of March, the 42.195 km course begins in Gómez Palacio, crosses into Lerdo, and finishes in Torreón—spanning two states and three cities in a single, uninterrupted route. Known for its flat, fast profile, the course passes key regional landmarks, including the historic Silver Bridge over the Nazas River, before culminating beneath the iconic “El Grito Triunfo,” a victory arch inside Bosque Venustiano Carranza. Backed by Grupo Lala and multiple local institutions, the event combines professional race standards with deep local pride and history. Athletes can expect a vibrant, thematic course filled with colorful songs, dances, costumes, banners, and instruments.
