Hellbender 5k & Half Marathon

The Hellbender is an endurance race suitable for both road and trail runners, held in the scenic Weiser State Forest, Pennsylvania. It features out-and-back courses for both a 5K and a half marathon, beginning at the Route 54 parking area near Bear Gap. The event aims to promote clean water in the Roaring Creek Watershed, with proceeds benefiting the RCVCA. The race derives its name from the hellbender salamander, symbolizing the event's focus on conserving local wildlife habitats impacted by urbanization. Participants receive race shirts, finisher medals, and a post-race meal.
