El Trote De Las Calacas

The Gail Borden Public Library District Foundation and U-46 Educational Foundation host "El Trote De Las Calacas" (The Skeleton Trot), a community race event supporting local organizations. This certified race welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, featuring music and scenic views through Elgin's historic neighborhood. Registration is required, with no refunds available, and includes a goodie bag, shirt, and other items. Volunteers are needed for various tasks. Awards are given to the top finishers in different age categories. Pets are not allowed, but service dogs and strollers are permitted.
