Beast of the Beacons Ultra 40m plus 20m & 10mile

The Beast of the Beacons is a fierce and unforgettable trail running experience through the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Featuring 10-mile, 20-mile, and 40-mile options, this event challenges runners with some of the most rugged, remote, and rewarding terrain in South Wales. Each distance is fully marked and supported by marshals, with generous cut-off times (5, 8, and 16 hours respectively) ensuring that both seasoned trail runners and adventurous beginners can take part. Starting from Llangynidr Village Hall, the course winds through mountain passes, thick forests, wild rivers, muddy tracks, and open ridges. The 40-mile ultra includes a second lap in reverse, offering a fresh perspective—and a second dose of wild scenery. Expect everything from rocky ascents and soft pine trails to surprise weather events—including the occasional spring snow! This is also a canicross-friendly race, inviting fit, leashed dogs (12+ months) to join the adventure, though they won't be eligible for podium awards due to their extra pulling power.
