About the event

The China Coast Marathon and Half Marathon is Hong Kong’s oldest AIMS-certified road marathon and a defining event in the local endurance calendar. Hosted by AVOHK, the race is known for its demanding course and competitive field. First won by legendary British marathoner Ron Hill, who called it his toughest race, the event continues to draw serious runners looking for a true test. The course, while updated over the years, remains hilly and technically challenging, with panoramic views of the South China Sea and surrounding countryside. Taking place in cooler, less polluted conditions than many urban races in the region, it offers a rare combination of fresh air, elevation, and road-racing grit. Organized by athletes for athletes, the China Coast Marathon prioritizes quality support, efficient logistics, and a community-driven experience for every participant.
